Free Days Entertainment Finds
Bank of America®/Merrill Lynch® Museum on Us Program-Holders of Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit and debit cards can present their cards along with a photo id at participating museums across the country on the first full weekend of each month to get one cardholder free admission.
Kids Bowl Free-Participating bowling centers offer kids that enroll in the program 2 free games per day during the summer. *Please note that shoe rental is not included.
Kids Skate Free-Offered year-round at participating skating centers in the U.S. Check individual skating center pages to see eligible hours and age restrictions. *Please note that skate rental is not included.
National Boating & Fishing Week Free Fishing Days–During this week that highlights the importance of recreational boating and fishing (generally in June), most states set aside a day or days when they allow first time anglers to fish without a license. Individual states may have restrictions related to these free fishing days so check with your states’s Wildlife and Fisheries office for details.
National Parks Free Entrance Days-The U.S. National Park Service offers free admission days scattered throughout the year. Although, many of America’s 400 plus National Parks are free every day, these special days get you free entry into to the 124 that do normally charge for entry. The parks that regularly charge admission include well-known ones such as Cape Cod National Seashore, Carlsbad Caverns, Death Valley, Denali, Everglades, Grand Canyon, Grand Tetons, Great Sand Dunes, Muir Woods, Petrified Forest, and Yosemite.
National Wildlife Refuge System Free Days-While the majority of National Wildlife Refuges are free for entry year round, the small number that do charge admission offer free admission days at various times during the year. Simply google to find free days for the current year.
Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day-Held in September, participating museums and cultural institutions around the United States offer free entry to anyone and their guest with a Museum Day Live ticket. Tickets are available online prior to Museum Day.
Symphony Free Day of Music-Symphonies across the U.S. offer free days of music and concerts to the community. Check with your nearest symphony for your regional free events.
Target Free Museum Entry Days-Target Corporation sponsors free museum entry days in more than 20 major metropolitan areas. A number of children’s museums are able to offer free days or evenings thanks to the sponsorship.
Try Hockey for Free Day-As a part of Come Play Hockey Month, USA Hockey and approximately 500 participating local associations around the country will let kids ages 4 to 9, try out hockey for a day (usually in November).
Free Food Days
Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day–One day of the year, free cones are available at the company’s scoop shops around the world (usually in April).
Chick-Fil-A Cow Appreciation Day®–Dress like a cow and receive a free entree. Kids dressed like cows get a free kid’s meal. This past year’s day was in July.
IHOP National Pancake Day™-On this day, generally in March, guests can enjoy a free short stack of pancakes at IHOP Restaurants. In return, guests are asked to consider a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals©.
7-Eleven Free Slurpee Day-Come in for a free slurpee on this day (July 11) during specific hours to celebrate this iconic drink.
Krispy Kreme Talk Like A Pirate Day-Come in to a participating Krispy Kreme shop and talk like a pirate to receive a free Original Glazed Doughnut. Dress like a pirate and receive one dozen Original Glazed Doughnuts. Last year’s day was held in September.
Also, remember that lots of great freebies are available on your birthday through company and product rewards programs. If you are active military or a veteran, you may be eligible for free admissions and gifts year-round, but especially on Veteran’s Day. And college students may also receive special offers throughout the year with a college id.
