Who wouldn’t like an easy, creamy strawberry pie with simple ingredients that tastes delicious? How about a strawberry pie that the kids will enjoy helping to make? Best of all, a pie that is grocery budget-friendly.
This recipe is closely adapted from the Katty’s Korner Kookbook. Katty’s Korner was a lovely down home restaurant started by a group of excellent cooks in Tennessee.
Easy, Creamy Dreamy Strawberry Pie Ingredients
- 1 package (4-serving size) Strawberry Gelatin
- 1 tub (8 oz.) Whipped Topping thawed
- 1 prepared Graham Cracker Crumb Pie Crust
- 1 small box fresh Strawberries
- 2/3 cup Boiling Water
- 1/2 cup Cold Water
- 3 to 4 Ice Cubes
Put Strawberry gelatin powder into a large bowl. Stir in the 2/3 cup boiling water and mix for at least 2 minutes until powder is completely dissolved in water. Add 1/2 cup cold water and ice to the bowl and mix well until gelatin is slightly thickened. If any ice remains once gelatin has thickened remove it.
Next, stir in the thawed whipped topping with wire whisk until mixture is smooth. Refrigerate 15 to 20 minutes in the bowl until mixture is very thick.
Spoon mixture into graham cracker crust. Refrigerate at least four hours. Garnish with strawberry slices. You could add blueberries as well for a nice Memorial Day or 4th of July dessert. This recipe makes about 8 servings.
