Looking for a yummy, hearty one-dish meal made with only six ingredients? You have come to the right place. This yummy crock pot pot roast is designed to satisfy. And best of all it is so easy.
Ingredients
1 3 to 4 pound Chuck Tender Beef Roast (Other cuts of beef good for the pot roast include arm roast and flat iron steak according toThe Butcher’s Blog.)
1 10 and 3/4 ounce can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 Package of Regular Baby Carrots-Not Matchstick (If you would like to save money and do the work yourself, buy a package of whole carrots and peel and chop into smaller pieces. I like the baby carrots because they are the perfect size to hold up under lengthy cooking times.)
1 3 pound bag of new potatoes
1 package of Onion Soup Mix
1/2 cup of water
Place Chuck Tender Beef Roast, package of Onion Soup Mix, and half of cup of water in crock pot andC set on low for 4 to 5 hours.
When that amount of time has passed, add carrots and halved new potatoes on top of the roast. Turn the crock pot to high and let cook for another two to three hours depending on tenderness of the roast. You know the dish is done when pieces of the roast easily come apart with a fork.
Viola, a satisfying meal in the slow cooker with little effort.

You are the second blogger that I have seen post a crock pot recipe today and I’m SO happy because I have been meaning to ask fellow bloggers for crock pot recipes. We just moved into a hotel and I have a crock pot so that I can make meals in the room and not eat out every night. Thank you for sharing!
Ashley, Married to the Game
And your hotel room will smell so great all the neighbors will be knocking on your door wanting some.
I’ve saved this recipe on Bloglovin. One of my favorite meals has to be pot roast. This is pretty much the only way I’ll eat carrots. Yum! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much. I love how the carrots are so tender that they melt in your mouth like butter. Yum!
Hi Sarah, saw your recipe over on Shauna’s link party so thought I’d come over and say hello! Lovely recipe 🙂
Mary
Thanks so much for hopping over. Have sent a Twitter follow you way.
Roast is one of my family’s favorite meals! One tiny difference in my recipe is replace the can of cream of mushroom soup with beef stock. (I’m gluten free and the rest of my house doesn’t like mushrooms). With the cold weather, I think I need to make one of these this weekend! YUM
The beef stock sounds like a great substitute.
Mmmm yum! This looks delicious! Pinning it now!
Thanks so much for the pin.

This is definitely a crock pot week, and I’ve been perusing pot roast recipes. Will definitely give this one a go! (Seen on What I Learned Wednesday.)
Appreciate the comment very much. Love the photography tips you have on your site. Pinned the Heart-Shaped Bokeh to my Valentine’s Board.
I love a good roast. This winter here in AZ didn’t really get as cold as it normally gets. It normally gets to be around the 50s during the day. I think I remember it being like that for like one week. The point is, it is hard for me to think about using my slow cooker when it’s not cold enough. Weird, I know 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Countdown in Style! Don’t forget to stop by Friday to see if you are featured!
Totally understand. So glad you have escaped the cold for the most part.
I don’t use my crock pot often enough. Would love to come home to the smell of this cooking away. And I do love pot roast! Thank you for sharing with See Ya in the Gumbo. I appreciate that you came by!

Onion soup really makes it tasty.
Looks yum!
Thanks so much.
What can be substituted for the cream of mushroom? I don’t like mushrooms. Thanks
I think Cream of Celery would work fine, as well.
