Easy, simple, and reasonably priced. That description fits this Mardi Gras decoration to a tee. It is always fun to have a big impact without major expense.
To create this three-step Mardi Gras Decoration/Centerpiece you need:
1.A handful of flowers and a small round (fishbowl-shaped) vase or glass bowl. The flowers in the photos are leftovers from a banquet that I helped with the other night. Reasonably priced loose flowers or wrapped flower assortments can be found at groceries, as well as, by asking florists for in season picks. Pop the flowers in the round bowl or vase and add water about half way up the bowl.
2.Thirty to forty strands of Mardi Gras beads (preferably green, gold, and purple). Inexpensive packs of Mardi Gras beads can be found at dollar stores, craft stores, and through online retailers such as Oriental Trading. Tuck one end of the Mardi Gras beads into the top of the vase or bowl. Help secure them in place by tucking them into the greenery and stems of the flowers. Alternate green, gold, and purple or other colors around the whole vase. Let beads then trail down the vase and onto the table.
3.Small Mardi Gras foam decoration cutouts and doubloons (Mardi Gras coins). The cutouts and coins are available at many craft stores, some dollar stores, and at the online retailers such as Oriental trading. Scatter the cutouts and doubloons at the bottom of the vase in with the excess length of the Mardi Gras bead strands.
Just these three steps and that is all there is to it!
